State 911 Department

Formed in 2017, the State 911 Department provides administrative support to Nebraska's Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and communications providers. Work is currently underway to transition the state from a Legacy 911 system to a Next Generation 911 system. Allowing for the free flow of multi-media information, Next Generation 911 will provide redundancy and resiliency to  a statewide system, and dramatically improve call routing and location accuracy for citizens needing emergency service.
