Christian Mirch, 35, was appointed in January 2023, by Governor Jim Pillen to serve the remaining four-years of a six-year term representing District 2.District 2 encompasses all of eastern Douglas County including the heavily populated Omaha Metro.
"The Commission does vital work for the citizens of our state," Mirch said. "And I intend to immerse myself in all aspects of the regulatory process."
An attorney and active law enforcement officer, Commissioner Mirch earned his Juris Doctor from Creighton University in 2018 while working for the Omaha Police Department (OPD). In his 10-years with OPD he served in numerous positions to include criminal investigations and the special operations section- gang unit. Upon receiving his law degree, he left OPD to clerk for the Honorable Michael G. Heavican, Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court. After completing his clerkship, he engaged in both private practice and public service as an attorney.
Mirch and his wife Emma, are blessed to be the parents of two amazing boys, Oliver and Lincoln.
