Commissioner Rhoades Named to Leadership Position on NARUC
                             Broadband Expansion Task Force

Lincoln, February 13, 2020 – Nebraska Public Service Commission
(PSC) District 2, Commissioner Crystal Rhoades, has been named
vice-chair of the newly formed NationalAssociation of Regulatory
Utility Commissioners (NARUC)Broadband Expansion Task Force
.

Names of those selected to serve on the task force were announced
by NARUC President Brandon Presley of Mississippi, during the
association’s Winter Policy Summit (Feb.9-12) in Washington D.C.

“Rural broadband deployment is the rural electrification of my
generation and I am excited to serve with this distinguished group
of commissioners to explore ways to deliver broadband to the
unserved and the underserved across the country,” said
Commissioner Crystal Rhoades, District 2. “This task force will
dig into everything from how best to gather data to the funding of
resources needed to expand broadband service.”

Commissioner Rhoades will serve alongside task force chair Chris
Nelson of South Dakota. They will be joined by nine other
commissioners representing the states of Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Vermont and West
Virginia. Task force members will serve for two years. The charter

A non-profit organization NARUC was founded in 1889. Its
membership includes governmental agencies that are engaged in the
regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty states, the District of
Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Member agencies
regulate telecommunications, energy and water utilities. NARUC
represents the interest of state public utility commissions before the
three branches of the Federal Government. ###
