MAKING THE RIGHT CALL: PSC TO
      HOST NOV. 18 WORKSHOP ON
         AUTODIALER COMPLIANCE

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC)
will host an informational workshop focused on autodialer and
robocall tools and the regulations on their use in the state.

The workshop is designed to educate candidates, political
parties, campaign consultants and other organizations that
use automatic dialing-announcing devices – commonly known
as “autodialers” – about the rules, restrictions and best
practices that apply under PSC authority. Calls placed with
autodialers play recorded messages and are colloquially
referred to as “robocalls.”

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at
1:30 p.m. Central Time. It is open to the public, and
available to join in the following ways:

  • In person: In the Commission Hearing Room located on
the third floor of the Atrium Building, 1200 N St., in
    downtown Lincoln
  • Online: Via Webex at https://sonvideo.webex.com/meet/
    PSCWebex
  • By phone: Call (408) 418-9388 and use access code
    2485 596 7539

PSC staff will provide attendees with an overview of
Nebraska’s laws related to autodialed and pre-recorded
messages, as well as guidance on avoiding common
compliance pitfalls that trigger complaints. With the 2026
election season nearing, political campaigns and interest
groups considering using autodialers are urged to attend
the session.

“Autodialers play a role in the way many campaigns
communicate with the public,” said Cullen Robbins, director
of the PSC’s Telecommunications Department. “We want to
help candidates operate responsibly and within the law during
the upcoming election cycle. This workshop is an opportunity
to promote transparency, consumer protection and good
communications practices.”

In addition to a presentation from PSC staff, the event will
include time for participants to ask questions. Advance
questions can be directed to Robbins at (402) 471-3101.
