Public Service Commission Names New Executive Director

             PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION NAMES 
                      NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Lincoln, July 22, 2025- The Nebraska Public Service 
Commission has named Greg Walklin as its new Executive 
Director. Currently the Commission’s General Counsel 
Walklin, 41, will replace Thomas Golden, who will retire 
from the role at the end of July.

“We are excited to be able to promote from within the 
agency and are pleased that Greg has accepted the 
opportunity to lead the Commission,” said Commission 
Chair, Tim Schram. 

An attorney, Walkin, has 16 years of service with the state 
of Nebraska. Prior to taking the role of PSC General Counsel
in October 2023, he was the Director of Procurement and 
Grants for the Department of Health and Human Services. He 
also served as an Assistant Attorney General with the 
Nebraska Department of Justice. 

Vice Chair, Commissioner Kevin Stocker said, “Greg’s 
understanding of the legislative process has been key to 
helping guide the Commission and establish effective 
working relationships with our state partners and leaders. 
We look forward to him continuing that role.”

During their July 22 meeting, Commissioners voted 
unanimously to promote Walklin to the position of Executive 
Director. Walklin, who will receive an annual salary of 
$165,000, will take over his new role on August 1. 

“I want to thank the Commissioners for the confidence 
they’ve placed in my ability to direct the daily operations of 
the agency,” Walklin said. “We have an extremely experienced 
and dedicated staff, and I look forward to continuing to build 
upon that knowledge as we work to regulate services 
essential to all Nebraskans.” ###
