                   2022 SCHEDULE AND APPLICATION

Lincoln, MAY 10, 2022 – On Tuesday, May 10, the Nebraska
Public Service Commission (PSC) approved an Order (C-5368)
issuing the 2022 Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program (NBBP)
schedule and application materials.

“We want to thank everyone who provided comments and
participated in the hearing as we work to refine the NBBP,” said
Commission Chair Dan Watermeier. “We value the input of everyone
involved in the process of bringing broadband to unserved and
underserved Nebraskans.”

Applications for the 2022 NBBP funding year will be accepted
beginning Monday, June 13. Per the Order (C-5368) the application
and program guide will be available on the Nebraska Broadband
Bridge Program
page of the PSC website. Applicants must comply
with all aspects of the application package.

The deadline for applications to be filed is no later than 5 p.m.,
Friday, July 1, although applicants are encouraged to file their
applications as soon as possible.  All filings must be submitted
electronically by email to < psc.broadband@nebraskagov >.
Applications received will be posted to the Nebraska Broadband
Bridge Program page
, found under the Telecom/NUSF tab of the
PSC website by Wednesday, July 6.

Created by the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Act, the NBBP
administered by the PSC provides grants to fund the deployment
of broadband networks in unserved and underserved areas. The
Act allows public entities and private companies to enter into a
partnership to apply for grant funding.

Commissioner Watermeier said, “In the first grant cycle (2021) we
awarded more than $19 million dollars. We look forward to receiving
applications and awarding new grants for broadband construction
this year.” ###
