PSC Issues Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program 2022 Schedule and Application

         PSC ISSUES NEBRASKA BROADBAND BRIDGE 
       PROGRAM 2022 SCHEDULE AND APPLICATION
 

Lincoln, MAY 10, 2022 – On Tuesday, May 10, the Nebraska
Public Service Commission (PSC) approved an Order (C-5368)
issuing the 2022 Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program 
(NBBP) schedule and application materials.

“We want to thank everyone who provided comments and
participated in the hearing as we work to refine the NBBP,” 
said Commission Chair Dan Watermeier. “We value the input 
of everyone involved in the process of bringing broadband 
to unserved and underserved Nebraskans.”

Applications for the 2022 NBBP funding year will be accepted
beginning Monday, June 13. Per the Order (C-5368) the 
application and program guide will be available on the 
Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program page of the PSC 
website. Applicants must comply with all aspects of the 
application package.

The deadline for applications to be filed is no later than 
5 p.m., Friday, July 1, although applicants are encouraged to 
file their applications as soon as possible.  All filings must be 
submitted electronically by email to < psc.broadband@
nebraska.gov >.Applications received will be posted to the 
Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program page, found under the 
Telecom/NUSF tab of the PSC website by Wednesday, July 6.

Created by the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Act, the NBBP
administered by the PSC provides grants to fund the 
deployment of broadband networks in unserved and 
underserved areas. The Act allows public entities and private 
companies to enter into a partnership to apply for grant 
funding.

Commissioner Watermeier said, “In the first grant cycle 
(2021) we awarded more than $19 million dollars. We look 
forward to receiving applications and awarding new grants 
for broadband construction this year.” ###
