Manufactured (mobile) homes, since the inception of the Federal Manufactured Home Act on September 15, 1976, will display the Federal Manufactured Home label (one per transportable section of home) on the end of the home on its exterior. These homes are built in accordance with the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards Act administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The link below will take you to HUD's manufactured home website.
If the label is not on the home and you need information regarding the label, and the home was built in Nebraska, please contact our office. If the home was built in another state, you may contact HUD's label contractor, IBTS, at the link below. In either case, please have at hand as much information about the home as possible (such as the home's manufacturer name, serial number, manufacture date and HUD label number).
If you are experiencing problems with the home that are not being resolved by the retailer and/or manufacturer, please click on the link below for a complaint form. The extent to which the Commission can help a home owner resolve a complaint depends upon the seriousness of the problem and which party (manufacturer, retailer, or installer) may have caused the problem. Cosmetic problems are not regulated.
